I'm excited to share how I'm learning to streamline my homestead business by leveraging a virtual team, focusing on my strengths, and pushing the right buttons to get things done efficiently.
If You Missed The Episode, Watch It Now.
Introduction:
Welcome to "Everyday Stories on Our Homestead" – I’m Scott Westhoff, father of 8, married to the wonderful Tamera.
Today, I want to share about streamlining the business and making it work efficiently.
Henry Ford Story:
Henry Ford went to court and was called "dumb" by a newspaper, leading him to sue for libel.
In court, Ford explained that he didn’t need to know everything because he could “push a button” and get experts to provide answers.
This story resonates with me as I learn to push the right buttons in my business without doing everything myself.
Lessons from Trey Lewellen:
Recently, I joined a call with multi-millionaire Trey Lewellen and learned about using 99designs.
You can run a design contest, find a great designer, and outsource work at a fraction of the cost, especially from third-world countries.
This is a game-changer as I focus on what I do best and let experts handle the rest.
The Power of Teamwork:
Even though I’m a “solopreneur,” I realize that I need a team to succeed.
I can use tools like ClickFunnels to automate my business and outsource work to specialists in design, development, and traffic generation.
My goal is to focus on content creation and products, while the team handles the technical side.
Family Involvement:
I’ve also started teaching my kids how to edit videos and work on projects.
They’re tech-savvy and can process videos faster than I can, helping me free up time to focus on growing the homestead.
I plan to hire them for specific tasks, and it’s a win-win for everyone.
Building a System:
With tools like ClickUp, I can automate the workflow by pushing buttons that send tasks to the design, development, and traffic teams.
This allows me to run my business smoothly without getting bogged down in the details.
Global Outreach:
I’m passionate about connecting with people all over the world.
I speak Spanish and am learning German and Chinese to communicate with more people and spread the homesteading message.
The Bigger Vision:
This is my journey from less than an acre to 50 acres and beyond.
I have a dream of building a $10 million research and development homestead, and I’m on my way there.
