Organic pest control requires patience—and so does content creation.

NEEM OIL AND THE WHITE FLY WAR

This week, I sprayed neem oil on our fruit trees, berries, and other fruiting plants.

We’ve had a recent surge of white flies, and rather than reach for something chemical-laced, I stuck with what I believe in: a natural, organic solution that protects both our plants and our health.

WHY NEEM OIL?
Neem oil is made from the seeds of the neem tree and works as a natural insecticide.
It works by:

Disrupting insect hormone systems

Coating leaves to discourage feeding

Acting as an antifungal agent

It’s great for white flies, aphids, spider mites, and even powdery mildew.

WHEN TO SPRAY NEEM OIL:

Spray early morning or late evening (to avoid leaf burn from sun)

Reapply every 7–14 days depending on pest pressure

Shake well before spraying (neem separates quickly)

Don’t spray on wet leaves

AVOID:

Spraying flowering plants during peak pollinator hours

Overuse (it's natural, but still strong)

Spraying before a rainstorm (it'll wash off)

WHEN THE TECH FAILS... PIVOT

Just like I had to show up and spray neem oil to stay ahead of pests, I had to pivot online when my livestream wouldn’t connect.

Instead of letting it derail the day, I:

Recorded the episode

Edited it minimally

Uploaded and moved on

No excuses. No need for perfection. Just progress.
